Teak

Teak wood has a warm brown colour. The amount of flame markings and their visibility is highly dependent on the tree’s growing conditions. The tree can be found almost on every continent and is largely planted. During processing it releases a special smell, it is a bit like old leather. The wood feels very soft, this is due to the oily substances contained in the wood. As a result, not all finishers are suitable for this wood. Cellulose-based oils and lacquers are suitable, while polyester lacquers generally do not adhere well to teak. Pre-treatment with a degreaser is recommended if you want to varnish teak.

Wood is a natural product and every piece of wood is different. The wood in the picture is meant as an example and will never be exactly the same as the piece sent to you. Wood can sometimes have a small crack or an old wormhole. The wood is sealed with paraffin.
