Steamed European Beech

Beech wood (Fagus sylvatica) is used in objects where there is movement. Salt and pepper mills, chairs, toys, etc. Steamed beech is stable and turns easily. It is hard wood that does not splinter. Some discolouration may occur in the core of old beech trees. Please indicate if you necessarily want this or not. It is light pink/reddish-like and has small mirrors on the quarter face. Beech is also nice “practice wood” for novice turners. Because it can be given a mirror-smooth finish and it is not expensive
