Quick release handle

A good tool handle is made of wood. Especially when it comes to wood turning tools. These handles are made of European beech. . There are 2 sizes available, 45, 25 cm long. At their thickest point they are 45 and 40 mm in diameter respectively. The handles have a steel collet head at the front in which the chisel is firmly secured. The rotating parts of the collet head have a ribbed surface for better grip. In the pull down menu you can choose which collet you want to clamp your tool. The exchange handle comes standard with a suitable 12 mm collet for the S series woodturning tools from CARP, but you can of course choose a different one…

Hollowing

What is really great about the 45 cm long handle is that you can slide your tool far into the handle. This is especially useful if you are working with a hollowing tool. But even if you are just starting to hollow out a bowl with your bowl gouge, you still have the option of sliding the gouge into the handle.

Additional collet

Do you want extra collets? Which can. Click here to order additional collets. It is, after all, a switch handle. It should hold several tools. The most common sizes are 10 mm (3/8 inch), 13 mm (1/2 inch) and 16 mm (5/8 inch). the collets to hold them are: 10-9, 13-12 and 16-15.

Finish

The handles are sanded to 180 grit, so they are not smooth as glass. You can choose whether you want to paint them or maybe just put a layer of oil on them. Many wood turners do nothing at all. So that a patina develops over the years through use. It’s helpful to make your tool handles all look different. That way you can easily and quickly recognize them in the tool rack.
