Koch Green felt disc

These Koch green felt discs are used to hone chisels and knives incredibly sharp. In combination with Koch grinding paste, it works great! Quickly stunning results for woodturning chisels made of HSS and Cobalt steel. But this combination of grinding paste and felt discs is also a great way to quickly sharpen tool steel tools without overheating them. The discs have a width of 30 mm, are 150 mm in diameter and have a 12 mm bore (arbor hole).

You get rid of the burr created when grinding with these felt discs used on Koch grinders, among others.

This is the grinding paste grit 2500 (green) that is best to use.

In use

The grinding paste is used in combination with felt discs mounted on a motor. As with the Koch grinder. It is super fast and the result is amazing. I wouldn’t believe that you can “polish away” grinding marks grain 120 with polishing paste 2500. But it does, and it happens with unprecedented speed and ease! The felt wheels are made of special felt, varying in hardness and enriched with aluminium oxide. Soft felt discs for quick material removal and hard felt discs for even polishing. (The yellow disc is for round profiles and the green one for straight, e.g. chisels).
