If your toolrest is 1 inch thick (2.54 cm) and your Banjo (toolrest holder) has a 30 mm take-up, this is a handy piece of metal. It allows you to clamp a 1-inch shaft into your 30 mm take-up. An adapter from 1 inch to 30 mm.
For most banjos, you just need to drill a hole through which to feed the clamping mechanism.
