This native wood species is popular with wood turners, pen turners and knife makers. The deep brown color is beautiful and contrasts sharply with the white sapwood. The Laburnum tree never becomes very big. The tree is almost never older than 15 to 20 years. The wood is dry and the endgrain is sealed with paraffin.
