Properties of Carbide Cutters
These chisels do not cut but scrape. This means they may not provide the finest finish on long grain wood, but they are very suitable for turning end grain or wood that contains a lot of silica, for example.
Epoxy
Nowadays, epoxy is often used in combination with wood. This type of chisel is very handy when working with epoxy-like materials or wood with a lot of sand or debris. Traditional turning chisels would become dull in no time, but these carbide cutters do not.
