19-20/12/2024 basic wood turning course
basic wood turning course
Learning to turn is fun! Especially if you have a good understanding of technology, it will become more and more beautiful. In this basic turning course you will learn all turning techniques in theory and practice in 2 days. How does the wood get round? What tools do you use and why? How do you sharpen these? Wet wood / dry wood? What is a safe speed? Which wood do you use for what? What is a good lathe? Ribbons? At the end of the course you will take your work(s) home.
For beginners, 2 days of intensive turning is a good start to expand the hobby.
No turning experience is required for this basic course. Experience in woodworking is an advantage but not essential.
Practice-oriented!
Of course, this course also teaches theory, but the focus is on practice. So it's a real "hands on" course. They spend as much time as possible behind the lathe! Feel free to bring something to take notes or pictures. You can also bring your own tools; I'm happy to give tips for a good grind.
