What is longgrain wood?
Long grain refers to wood that has been sawn along the length of a tree trunk, parallel to the length of the trunk itself. This sawing method results in beams where the grain direction runs parallel to the length of the wood. Woodturners call it long grain when the grain direction runs from center to live center.
