Wiedemann uitdraaihaak recht (groot)
Hollowing hook.
This set of turning hooks from the German firm Wiedemann has long been a household name among woodturners making vases. They perform especially well in end-grain wood. Wiedemann's turning hooks are milled from a solid piece of HSS steel. Unlike other hooks that are sometimes forged. After milling and grinding, they are hardened with nitrogen under vacuum. The result is long-life hooks that are super-sharp to sharpen. Time after time...
Usage.
When the set of rotary hooks come out of the packaging, they are sharp and ready to use.
The straight twist-out hooks are used when hollowing out vases and other hollow forms to get deeper and deeper into the vase. The curved hook is used to finish walls.
The hooks can be mounted in this rod. The hook is then tightened with an Allen bolt. The rod is no less than 50 cm long. Just make your own handle or click here for a changeable handle.
Grinding.
To sharpen this set, it is easiest to file the inside with a CBN pen or the outside with a diamond file.
