This live center has a centering point and a pressure ring. The advantage of using a pressure ring is that the wood does not split when it becomes thin. You simply slide the pressure ring over the point of the live center. The pressure ring can be used in 2 positions. In one position the center functions as a cup center (live center) and when reversed it becomes a ring center. (the point is then much deeper in the ring)
This live center has a Morse Taper 2 for inclusion in the spindle.
