XL Vase steady by Simon Hope
Vase steady
Have you always wanted to hollow out a large workpiece? but it didn't work because your workpiece didn't remain stable on the lathe?... Look no further!
This Steady rest was designed by Simon Hope to allow large workpieces with a diameter of up to 40 cm to run stably and centered. The standard version is made for the Stratos and Twister lathes (centerhight 20 - 23 cm), for lathes with a greater center height you can purchase an optional riser block, click here. By the way, Simon Hope himself says that the handy woodturner can easily make a block himself that can fill the difference in center height. If you have a different brand of lathe, don't worry. The XL Vase Steady can be placed on any lathe with flat bed ways.
