Milling threads with the HOPE easy threading jig.
Milling threads on your lathe has never been easier than with this attachment. The supplied goes into the spindle of your lathe. cutter and your workpiece is placed in the Tool rest holder with the attachment. By turning the shaft of the attachment, your workpiece slowly rotates along the cutter and a thread is milled. This attachment is available as standard for Tool rest holders (banjo) with a 1 inch and 30 mm holder. If you have a different shaft thickness on your Tool rest, please let me know.
About the threaded attachment
You assemble the Simon Hope threaded attachment yourself. You have to choose from a number of things;- Threaded. what is the thread of the chuck you are using? you can use the drop down menu choose from M33 x 3.5mm and 1 inch x 8 TPI.
- Toolrest. What is the thickness of the Tool rest mounting? you can choose 1 inch (25.4 mm) or 30 mm in the drop-down menu.
- Urgent. What is the thread you want to mill? You can choose 3.5 mm, 16 tpi, 12 tpi or 10 tpi in the drop-down menu. (You only choose the pitch, you determine the diameter yourself. So you can make M33 x 3.5 but also M41.5 x 3.5)
Easy
This attachment is called the Easy-set threading jig. That's because setting up the attachment is very easy to do. Set the attachment exactly parallel to the bench bed, so that the cutter in the axis of your lathe exactly touches the wall of your workpiece. You mill the depth of the thread in a number of passes. And you can adjust the depth of the cutter in steps with the silver-colored wheel. For mounting the milling cutter on the spindle of the lathe is There is also a holder available.options
