Bowl turning
Turning bowls is incredibly fun to do. Especially if your technique is well mastered, it becomes easier and more fun! In this workshop you learn to turn bowls in an efficient way. In 2 days you learn all the techniques of bowlturning. After this course you won't have catches any more....
For this course is some experience in wood turning desired. Some experience with other woodworking is a pré but not strictly necessary.
Attention is paid to:
- How do you saw a piece of wood from the tree?
- Which chisels do you use and why?
- How and when do you sharpen your chisels?
- What is a safe speed?
- What wood do you use for what?
- How do you dry your wood?
- How do you finish your bowl?
Day 1: From trunk to raw bowls. We saw a piece of wood from a tree trunk and make bowls from it.
Day 2: From dried rough bowl to a nice oil-finished bowl. we make a natural edge bowl and when the time allows us, we make a plate. At the end of the course you take your piece of work home.
Small group
In a small group in the workshop of Ronald Kanne, wood turner and demonstrator, on the best lathes in the market. Oneway, Vicmarc and the Stratos. The next workshop will be on November 28th. and 29th 2024 from 9.30-17.30 hours. Coffee/tea/lunch, the wood and the use of the tools are of course included in the price.
