Santos Rosewood.
Santos rosewood is a hard, dense, heavy wood with a decorative pattern. The wood can be worked reasonably well and turned well. Because the wood has a dense structure, it can be finished very smoothly. The heartwood is light red to brown, the sapwood is white. The combination of heartwood and sapwood can combine very nicely in a workpiece.
