Sorby RS 208 hollowing tool
Robert Sorby RS208
The Sorby RS208 is a hollowing tool / hollow turning tool, a combination of an armrest and a gooseneck with a scraper. Sorby calls this the hooker, because you can use it to 'turn around a corner'.
The armrest is designed to steer the gooseneck through the hollow form with as little force as possible. The bracket on the back of the armrest ensures this. There is a neoprene soft grip on the front of the armrest. This dampens the vibrations that occur during hollowing out.
The hooker makes it possible to work through a narrow opening. This comes standard with a scraper that is straight on one side and curved on the other. This makes it possible to make almost any form.
