Killinger KM 3100 SE
Killinger KM 3100 SE
Killinger KM 3100 SE cast iron lathe is Killinger's flagship machine. 280 mm centre height, rotating and sliding fixed head, infinitely adjustable speed, 2.2 kW motor (3 HP) from a solid engine. The axis of Killinger lathes run in SKF bearings and FAG angle bearings. Good for years of backlash-free running hours. The holder of the chisel support has a new mounting on the bed with 2 major advantages. The trade no longer comes out in front of the chisel support but is underneath it, so it no longer hits your body. Furthermore, the rod on which the clamping block hangs has become much shorter, which gives an even better clamping on the bed. The toolbox between the legs is of course handy for storing tools, but it also increases the rigidity of the construction by acting as an extra strut. If this 440 kg (!) heavy bench is still not heavy enough for you, you can always add weight to the cast-iron legs.
About Killinger
Klaus Killinger made his first lathe in 1965. In the years that followed, he slowly built on his small lathe empire. In the 1980s, he developed a copying attachment and in the 1990s, the heavy lathes KM 6000 and KM 7000 saw the light of day. Everything was developed and made in Germany. At the beginning of the 21st century, killinger stops using steel lathes and switches to cast iron. Even more weight and rigidity in construction. The benches are then still assembled in Germany because Killinger insists on using German parts in crucial places. Meanwhile, the Killinger brand is owned by the Steinert brothers in Olbernhau (D). Roland and Martin come from a family of woodturners. And that production method is still the same. Killinger plays it safe.
