Ecoat crystal clear
Ecoat crystal clear
Ecoat is a food contact approved, very clear, fast curing epoxy resin. This epoxy resin has added UV stabilizers and is used for making epoxy pen blanks, tableware, beer mugs, table tops, filling holes, waterproofing cups, etc.... You can apply this two-component Ecoat epoxy as a hard waterproof finishing layer or pour it to a layer thickness of up to 3 mm. This epoxy dries quickly, your processing time is approximately 20 minutes. The mixing ratio is by weight and is 100 (A): 45 (B). After about 24 hours it is completely hardened and ready to be processed into a piece of jewelry, pen or lid. Ecoat is dust dry after 5 to 6 hours and fully hardened after 24 hours.
Food safe
Once Ecoat has hardened for 48 hours, it may come into contact with food. It is resistant to (hot) water, alcohol and vinegar.
Processing
Make sure you process the epoxy in a clean, dry room with a temperature of at least 15 degrees Celsius. The surfaces to be treated must be free of grease, oil and/or wax. The mixing of the two components is done on a weight basis. Stick to the prescribed proportions as precisely as possible. This improves hardening. Make sure you mix really well. Once you have prepared the epoxy you have about 20 minutes to process it. Make sure that all the parts you are working with are approximately have the same temperature. And keep dust away while curing. Ecoat can be applied with a brush or by pouring. If Ecoat is poured in multiple layers, sand the hardened layer in between with grit 240, for a good mechanical bond between the layers. Do you want a lower viscosity (thinner liquid), then use Aquares.
