Easy Core Base Plate
The Easy Core base plate.
The Easy Core base plate is the basis of the Easy Core system. A heavy solid construction. The plate is mounted on the lathe and the knife and the tool support (ordered separately) rotate in it. A base plate fits on almost every lathe with flat bed tracks. The base plate is available in a number of heights. There are various clamping blocks available to mount the base plate on your lathe.
The Easy-core system from Oneway is a unique method to get more bowls from the same piece of wood. It is fast, adequate and safe.
Why the Oneway Easy Core.
- It saves time. Cutting bowls is faster than hollowing out with a bowl gouge.
- It saves energy. It also costs you less energy than hollowing out with a bowl gouge.
- It saves wood. Instead of 1 bowl, you can now get 5 or 6 bowls from the same piece of wood. It saves shavings. Hollowing out a large bowl will give you a few garbage bags full of shavings. Working with the bowl cutter will give you a shopping bag full of shavings.
- Little vibration. The blade of the bowl cutter is always supported by the curved chisel rest.
- Because the path of the blade is defined, the blade can go in and out as often as you want. This is often useful for loosing the wood shavings.
- The shape of the chisel ensures that there are virtually no 'catches'.
- Multiple shapes possible. (a smal flat bowl can be cored out with a large blade)
- The system fits on almost any lathe with a center height between 20 and 33 cm.
Blades for the Easy Core base plate.
The Oneway bowl cutter has a base, 4 blades and 4 curved tool rests. The largest has a maximum diameter of about 44 cm. This means that the bowl will have an inner diameter of about 44 cm. The smallest gives a diameter of about 20 cm. (but smaller is also possible) Requirements are that the bed of the lathe is flat and the motor at least 1 KW (1.5 HP). The Easy Core has a replaceable 'cutter' made of HSS CPM M4. There are also cutters made of carbide (stellite) available. If you choose: "complete set" then indicate what kind of clamping block you want with it and choose the center height of your lathe in the pull down menu. Clamping block.
To ensure that the base is properly secured to the lathe, you need a good clamping block. A good clamping block varies per lathe. Therefore, choose your clamping block based on the space between the bed tracks. You will find the correct clamp block here.
