A good tool handle is made of wood. Especially when it comes to woodturning tools. These handles are made of European beech. . There are 2 sizes available, 45, 25 cm long. At their thickest point they are 45 and 40 mm in diameter respectively. The handles have a steel ER 25 collet head on the front in which the tool is securely fixed. The rotating parts of the collet head have a ribbed surface for better grip. In the pull-down menu you can choose which collet you want to clamp your tool. The interchangeable handle comes standard with a suitable 12 mm collet for CARP's S series tools, but you can of course choose a different one...
Hollowing
What's really great about the 45 cm long handle is that you can slide your tool far into the handle. This is especially useful if you are working with a hollowing tool. But even if you are just starting to hollow out a bowl with your bowl gouge, you have the option to slide the tool into the handle for a moment.
Additional collet
Do you want extra collets? That's possible. Click here to order additional collets. After all, it is a change handle. It must accommodate multiple tools. The most common tool sizes are 10 mm (3/8 inch), 13 mm (1/2 inch) and 16 mm (5/8 inch). 10-9, 13-12 and 16-15.
Finishing
The handles have been sanded to 180 grit. So they are not mirror smooth. You can choose whether you want to paint them or perhaps just put a layer of oil on them. Many woodturners do nothing at all. So that a patina develops over the years through use. It's helpful to make your tool handles all look different. This way you can easily and quickly recognize them in the tool rack.
