Bocote
Bocote
Bocote is beautifully scarred wood originating from Central and South America. Bocote is also called Mexican Rosewood. The wood is heavy and hard, yet it can be turned and polished wonderfully. After polishing, the wood almost resembles a tiger's eye gemstone in colour and depth. The older the tree is, the darker the wood becomes.
The wood is somewhat more difficult to glue due to its high fat content. For sanding Bocote, we recommend working with Abranet. The structure of Abranet makes it less likely to fill up when sanding, allowing you to work longer. If you want to try it, click here for an Abranet trial set.

nature
Wood is a natural product and every piece of wood is different. The wood in the picture is meant as an example and will never be exactly the same as the piece sent. Wood can sometimes have a small crack or an old wormhole. The wood is sealed with paraffin.
