Birch
Birch is a fast-growing native tree. Birch wood is cheap and mostly used as strapwood but it is fine for turning! Woodturners often use Birch when it is spalted. (A fungus that can leave a beautiful line pattern when it dies) This wood has been sawn and air-dried for use on the lathe. The wood was sawn at least 1 year ago. It is therefore not 100% dry yet. If you are processing this wood, it may be advisable to pre-turn first and allow the rough shape to dry further and then finish turning.

Always different
Wood is a natural product and every piece of wood is different. The wood in the picture is meant as an example and will never be exactly the same as the piece sent to you. Wood can sometimes have a small crack or an old wormhole. The wood is sealed with paraffin.
