Description

African Blackwood is a beautiful heavy dark brown/black, dense wood. The wood is also called Grenadil and in Africa it is called M’pingo. The tree can grow up to 14 meters, but usually they do not grow more than about 7 meters. M’pingo grows mainly in the horn of Africa. African Blackwood is widely used for making musical instruments. Flutes, oboes and clarinets. The wood is also often used because of the sharp delineation between the core and sapwood.
