This Danish oil is offered by all kinds of brands in different compositions. Traditionally, Danish oil is a mix of oil, to impregnate the wood and a resin to leave a gloss on the wood. The highest quality wood oil is pressed from the nuts of a tung. It smells pleasant and does not call the wood. This is the basis for the oil of DeCokerije. The oil has been modified so that it is better impregnates and a natural resin is added that leaves a light shiny layer on the wood. This Danish oil is also suitable for outdoor work, protects the wood from water and UV radiation, penetrates deep into the wood and thus protects against ageing and dehydration. To this oil are siccatieven added that provide a nice even drying. In contrast to many other oils from this series, this Danish oil has been added a small part solvent. This makes processing easier and promotes the drying process. Traditionally, Danish oil needs to be applied in many layers. With the oil of DeCockerije is that reduced to 2 to 3 layers. Note that the layers are not made too thick so that no oil is dried on the wood! Always rub well after about 20 minutes so that no oil on the wood dries!

Once the tin has arrived, I use a wine bottle that I seal with the Vacu fin to keep the oil in.
