The hard wax oil from deCokerije is good quality hard wax oil based on Tung oil and Carnauba wax. These are 2 ingredients that are not so easy to put together. It requires a lot of knowledge to produce such an oil. Hardwax oil is excellent for protecting wooden surfaces against dirt and stains. If the hard wax oil is applied correctly, it gives an untreated appearance to the surface. However, a glossy surface can also be obtained, for example in woodturning. Spin the work quickly (when the oil has dried somewhat) and press a cleaning cloth on it. The wax is now polished into a shiny surface by the pressure and frictional heat.
Why choose Hardwax oil from deCokerije?
- Tung oil has been used. This means less yellowing than with (cheaper) hard wax oil based on linseed oil or only solvents.
- The hard wax oil from deCokerije contains fewer solvents. It is therefore more pleasant to work with this oil, but above all you can treat much more wood with 1 liter of deCokerije hard wax oil! This makes the price per square meter considerably lower!

How do I apply hard wax oil?
- Sand the surface with a good quality sandpaper. When sanding, always use all subsequent grains of sandpaper to get the best result. Remove the sanding dust in between.
- Apply the hard wax oil with a brush, sponge, roller or cloth, depending on the workpiece. Make sure that the entire surface is moistened and work mainly in thin layers.
- Treat areas that quickly absorb the oil again immediately and pay extra attention to cracks, ends, knots and the like.
- After about half an hour, but in any case while the oil is still wet, polish the surface with old rags to remove excess oil from the surface. So no layer of oil should remain and dry ON the wood!
- Prevent heating in the used rags! Store the cloths in a bucket of water or let them spread out to dry. (The dry cloths with the hardened oil work particularly well as a fire starter in the stove :-))
- If necessary, apply subsequent layers after waiting a day each time and apply as many layers until the wood no longer absorbs anything and is therefore saturated.
- Depending on the extent to which the surface is used, the oil film must be regularly replenished by applying a new layer of hard wax oil.
- For heavily loaded applications such as garden furniture, the wood must first be provided with a layer of impregnating oil before applying the Hard Wax Oil to obtain maximum protection
Make sure that the layers are not applied too thickly so that no oil dries on the wood! Always rub well after about 20 minutes so that no oil dries ON the wood!
Store wood oil.
Once the can is opened, the oil will dry because it comes into contact with oxygen. This can be prevented, for example, by using these stoploss bags.
