Eight Tuesday evenings.

Woodturning is incredibly fun to do. Especially if your technique is well mastered, it becomes more fun every day! In this basic course woodturning you learn in 8 evenings all basic techniques of woodturning, the cutting way. How do I get my first piece round? Which chisels do I use and why? How do I sharpen your chisels? Wet wood/dry wood? What is a safe speed? Which wood do you use for what? What is a good lathe? Sanding? At the end of the course you take your workpiece home. For starting woodturners a course on a weekly basis is very pleasant because you can practice in between the lessons at home. The next week you come back with new questions and comments. For this basic course woodturning there is no experience needed. Experience with woodworking is also not necessary.

Attention will be paid to:

• Selecting, using and sharpening the right tool.

• Wood selection saw and drying.

• Rotating speed.

• How to reach the most beautiful finish.

Small group.

In a small group you get lessons from an experienced woodturner and demonstrator. On the best lathes in the market. Oneway, Vicmarc and Stratos. 8 Tuesday Evenings start September 4th 2018 (19.15-22.00 hours). The coffee/tea, the wood and the use of tools are included in the price. The course is given in Nieuw Wehl. (Doetinchem). Also to reach by train.
