The Termite is really just the old ring tool reinvented. With this ring tool you can turn more beautifully, neatly and deeper into the wood. And an exercised woodturner will be able to make the most beautiful finishes on the insides of hollow formes! When the Termite is removed from the box, you can immediately get started. It is sharp. The ring is made of HSS. They are secured with a hexbolt in a rigid steel holder of 18.5 cm, which is again in a wooden handle of 38 cm. The total length (without the ring) of the chisel is 56.5 cm!!! The ring is cut on 2 sides. The flat side you use to do the rough cuts to go into the wood and can be used on the bottom of the workpiece. The slightly tapered side can be used to turn along the object’s wall. The Oneway Termite is a popular piece of tools in France. This is particularly because Jean-François Escoulen uses the tool on his school of woodturning. One of the good things about the Termite is the included grinding jig. Keep it sharp and keep it sinpel! What is annoying with a ring chisel? Sharpening! Well not the Termite! I myself am a supporter of sharpening before a tool becomes dull. Supplied with the tool are a block metal (serves as the holder of the ring when sharpening) and a point-shaped grinding stick. This can be in the (column) drilling machine or router and in no time the chisel is super sharp again. Included: Holder, handle, #1 bit (10mm), #2bit (12mm), 3 mm Allen key and grinding pin.
