This is a hollow live center with a centre point and a pressure ring. The advantage of using a pressure washer is that the wood does not split when it becomes thin. Something that happens with the standard live centers. Additional to this center is that it is hollow, you can drill true it. The holes on the side of the live center serve to unload the shavings. This live center has a Morse Cone 2 for inclusion in the tailstock.
